About the Owner
Bill Pritt
FortyFive Degrees officially opened on June 7, 2008. The life long passion of its owner, Bill Pritt, its concept, atmosphere, and design was inspired by Bill’s north side establishment, Blu Martini. Under Bill’s leadership, from October 2005 to its sale in August 2010, Blu Martini was transformed into a market-leader widely known and respected. As a resident of downtown, Bill set out to bring the same distinctive atmosphere Blu Martini provides to north suburban residents, a little closer to home. He found no better location to house the restaurant, sushi bar, and nightlife concept than Massachusetts Avenue, in the heart of the art and theater district, in downtown Indianapolis.
FortyFive Degrees, although birthed from similar principles, is very different than its north side predecessor. Named for the odd angle at which Mass Ave meets College Ave, FortyFive Degrees is encased with uniquely angled walls, odd shaped seating areas, and tubular light pendants, all of which add to the theme. As with the design, Bill also wanted an even greater focus on food and drink quality which had contributed to his previous success. FortyFive Degrees quickly became an anchor on Mass Ave and one of Indy’s most popular destinations resulting in consistent sales growth since its opening. Bill Pritt continues to find was to improve the business by updating food menus, increasing liquor, wine, and beer selections, expanding the hours of operation, and adding new DJ’s to the entertainment line up. FortyFive Degrees has become famous for its half-price martini night on Thursday with DJ Cool Hand Lex and half-price sushi on Sunday.
In order to protect the significant investment he made in FortyFive Degrees Mr. Pritt purchased all of its property and the adjoining retail space on October 23, 2009. Looking to fill the 3 adjoining retail spaces that were unoccupied and unfinished Mr. Pritt began to consider opening up additional businesses.
In June of 2010 Bill opened a unique frozen yogurt and coffee shop concept which he named YoguLatte. Yogulatte offers high quality coffee, delicious pastries, unique beverages, and self serve frozen yogurt priced by weight. Once again, Mr. Pritt created a hit attracting thousands of customers every week and contributing significantly to community revitalization efforts.
As the company continues to grow, Bill Pritt stays current on industry trends while remaining focused on key business and life principles his late Grandfather is credited for instilling in him. It is these principles that contributed to his 18+ years of restaurant industry success and therefore, Bill named Heritage Entertainment, Inc. in his honor. Below is the company’s mission statement.
